THE BRIEF
HP asked us to create an interactive "holiday e-card" that would engage and entertain a very loyal B-to-B audience. We didn't want to create just another ordinary e-card, so we pitched them a big idea with an interactive story driven narrative. And they loved it.
THE IDEA
THE UNITY TREE
We created an interactive narrative Inspired by books from our childhood, like Shel Silverstein’s "Where the side walk ends," and "The Giving Tree. Similar to the idea of an advent calendar, the user is able to open a new door each day and find a new tasty piece of chocolate.
Each day a new whimsical number creature would reveal itself, building anticipation to the grand finale on the 31st day. The style of illustration is rich in detail and innocent at a glance, but when you actually spend time on the site you start to see adult like undertones that start to emerge, giving it the injection of punk rock we were looking for.
The characters we created were so popular that we were asked to create trading cards and other print pieces to decorate HP offices around the US.
